Beyond The Banyan Tree: Your Partner in Mental Health

THE SELF AND RELATIONSHIPS

 Healthy relationships begin with clear communication and a strong sense of self. Whether you’re facing difficulties with a partner, struggling to express yourself, or finding it hard to believe in your own worth, counselling can provide the space to explore these challenges safely. Together, we can strengthen your confidence, rebuild self-esteem, and develop communication tools that support healthier, more fulfilling connections in all areas of your life. 

Health maintenance

As a current practicing clinician, I see it all too often that the mind and body are certainly connected. Currently, there aren't many services that assist in addressing physical/chronic conditions and how they impact upon our mental health. My aim for the Banyan Tree is to strategise and address how your lived experience in having acute, chronic and terminal diagnoses, impact upon your mental health. Working solely with individuals, carers and fellow clinicians in guiding your care of the body, and the mind. 

Mental Health

Utilising evidenced based practice and keeping up to date with research methods and education, I aim to work with clients suffering from existing/newly diagnosed conditions including anxiety, depression, mood disorders and personality disorders. Treatment plans are tailored to individuals and their goals utilising pharmacological and non-pharmacological means. 

Trauma CounseLling

If you've experienced trauma, it's important to seek help from a qualified therapist. I have up-to-date trauma informed care principles that I use in practice with individuals. This includes PTSD, C-PTSD, FDV, DV and culturally sensitive trauma such as previous work with refugees and war victims.

ADDICTION/SUBSTANCE USE

Addiction can be a difficult cycle to break, but with the right support and treatment, recovery is possible. For 10 + years, I have worked in clinical and non-clinical settings with individuals that are using alcohol and/or other drugs. I utilise evidence-based research in conjunction to the individual and the lived experience to work upon achieving goals in positive health outcomes. 

Grief and bereavement

Loss is a significant and natural part of life, but when it becomes overwhelming, it can impact upon our mental and physical health. Grief and bereavement may not just be associated towards death. I aim to assist individuals that may be grieving in any form (whether personal, social or otherwise). I have extensively worked in multiple streams both in Australia and overseas in addressing grief and how each lived experience may respond in their own way.
